FOUNDER AND C.E.O. COREY TABOR

Corey Tabor – Founder and C.E.O. of the H.I.M. Center

Corey is the Founder and C.E.O. of The History in the Making Community Development Center also known as the H.I.M. Center. The purpose of the H.I.M. Center is to improve the quality of education in the community, enrich the quality of families within the community and develop quality leaders for the community.

Corey also serves as the Founder and President of III (Triple I) Coaching, LLC a life coaching and ministry coaching firms that informs, instructs and inspires people and organizations to fulfill their God-given purpose.  He has written various books, workbooks, and workshops designed to fulfill this purpose.  His works include: “Being: A 30-Day Guide to Being Who God Created You to Be”, “Prioritize for Your Purpose: Ordering Your Life to Extraordinary”, “Developing a College Ministry for Your Church” and History in the Making: 7 Keys to Making History in Your Lifetime”.

Corey is also the Program Director of LifeGuard the sexual risk avoidance sex and character education program of  The Source for Women.  Corey is a Sexual Risk Avoidance Specialist (SRAS) and certified by Ascend (Formerly the National Abstinence Education Association) of Washington D.C. where he serves on their National Advisory Board. LifeGuard currently reaches 15,000 students in 30 schools in 8 school districts.

Corey Tabor performs comedy as C-Note providing humor to help others. Through a combination of storytelling, jokes, and music, C-Note leaves you feeling better and being better. In 2009 he was the Creator and Executive Producer of “C-Note presents I Grew Up in Church.” 

Corey Tabor served as the Founder and Lead Pastor of Full Life Community Church, a missional, maturing, multicultural church in Pflugerville, Texas for 9 years. He served as the Maturity and Ministry Pastor at Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Austin, Texas for 4 years and as the Founder and Campus Staff Member of Texas Gospel Fellowship, a ministry of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship reaching black students at the University of Texas at Austin for 4 years.

Corey is a professional speaker, author, and life coach. He has spoken to groups such as the Southwestern Black Student Leadership Conference (Texas A&M), The University of Texas (Football Team, Black Faculty and Staff Network, and guest lectured in African and African Diaspora Department). He has authored two books and provides coaching services to individuals, schools, nonprofits, and churches. He has been appointed to the One Star National Service Commission Board by Governor Greg Abbott and has served on the Manor ISD Schoolhouse Foundation as the Development Director and on the Manor ISD Bond Committee. He currently serves as the Development Director for The Man in Me (Austin) and M.U.G.S. (Mom’s Under God’s Service) in Fort Worth, Texas.

Prior to planting Full Life Community Church, Corey served as the Maturity and Ministry Pastor at Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Austin, Texas where he oversaw membership, adult ministries, discipleship and missions.

Prior to coming on staff at Greater Mt. Zion, Corey served as the Founder and Campus Staff Member of Texas Gospel Fellowship with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship at the University of Texas at Austin growing the ministry to over 130 students in four years.

Corey graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in August of 2000 with a B.S. in Communication Studies / Human Relations and a minor in Business.  He completed his Masters of Ministry Leadership degree at Rockbridge Seminary. (Springfield, Missouri). He is currently enrolled in the Doctorate of Transformational Leadership Program at Bakke Graduate University (Dallas, Texas)

While studying at the University of Texas Corey was involved in various organizations and served in various leadership roles.  He served as chaplain and president of Innervisions Gospel Choir where he partnered with Revival City Music to write and co-produce Unconditional Praise, the first CD recorded by Innervisions Gospel Choir.  Corey also served as a one-year at large Student Government Representative, Resident Assistant, Orientation Advisor, and Career Exploration Center Peer Counselor.  It was during his time as a student Corey accepted his call to ministry and began developing his speaking and leadership gifts.

Corey has been married to his wife, April Tabor since June 2003 and they have two daughters, Anaia Naomi and Charis Dawn.  They live in Manor, Texas just east of Austin, Texas.
